I Miss My Sister So Much

Well…

Norman never told me why he was away or what he was doing.

And I hadn’t even noticed that Melanie was away as well.

Now they’re back and they’re going to live together.

I heard it from Maureen who got it from Amanda.

I have to be honest and admit that I am a little offended that Norman did not tell me what was happening.

My sister Polly’s daughter, Constance, came to see me today.

She had a small package in her hand.

“My Mum kept all your letters,” she said. “She was very proud of you. She particularly liked this.”

She handed me a sheet. I must have written it round about 1988 or 1989, after visiting her.

Village in a Mist

I felt so lonely at that moment. I miss my sister so much. After we grew up, we knew so little about each other.

I never knew she was proud of me.
