Riding the Great Divide Trail. Day 6

Riding the Great Divide Trail. Day 6. Cooper Lake to Lincoln.

After washing in the lake and more cowboy coffee we took our time to pack up.

We climbed up again with the grey-green mountains on our left, barer at the crests, with great screes running down into high valleys.

I felt good on the climb today. Then it was downhill past Reservoir Lake.

We took two rooms at the Three Bears Motel in Lincoln and ate at a steak house on Main Street.

I watched CNN.

Scientists in the US and elsewhere report the development of a “neurosynaptic” computer called TrueNorth that mimics our right-brain functions.

When we were having dinner Jamie said: “You always used to tell me that wherever you were sent, you always had a rucksack, a sleeping bag, a lightweight tent, a map, a compass and some emergency food and medical stuff in your baggage. I have always remembered  that. I think we are quite similar, you and I.”

It’s the first time he ever said that.
